Prayer Requests

We would greatly appreciate it if you would add us to your prayer list.  Mathew 18:20 says, "for if 2 or more are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst."  We have added several prayer requests from the last time you viewed the blog.  When you get the opportunity please keep the following requests in your thoughts and hearts as you come before the LORD.

1. Praise that we have our work permits!   As we start the process over again to renew our work permits (March) (4 months early so that the can be done in time) we ask that your prayers for efficient processing of our permits and that they are complete before we come back to the States this July which is when our current work permits run out.  We are now in June and still have not heard about the renewal.  They were trying for a 3 year renewal so just pray that this goes through and we won't have to do it again!

2. Jullie and I can continue to learn Swahili.  Still very challenging.

3.  We still struggle with “how do we help without hurting”. People are coming to us literally every day. We don’t want to say no but we also don’t want to just give people money. I don’t think that helps. We need GOD’s wisdom on how to deal with this.

4. The Bethany Kids Children's Center is moving forward, however BK does not have all the funds they need to complete the project.  They have stepped out in faith but are justifiably concerned about being able to finish the project.
We ask for GOD's wisdom as we try to plan for down the road.

5.  We have been involved with an orphanage (Into Abbas Arms) in South Kinangop Kenya, through eMi.  We are helping them build a new kitchen and dining facility.  They have finished the Kitchen and are now using the facility.  It is such a blessing that all 25 kids have a place to sit now while eating and the ladies can prepare the food inside.

 6. Jullie and I are praying for GOD to continue to give us wisdom as we work with the hospital and station in this huge and complex expansion which will affect the community and region as a whole. The local people don't think the same way we do and, while that is not a bad thing, Jim has had some very difficult times as he has been able to see a problem happening down the road and can't get the concept understood now by the teams. Pray that GOD will provide him the humility he needs to be able to present information in terms that are understood.

7.  Pray for the Kijabe Hospital Senior Management Team (SMT).  This hospital's main goal is "Health Care to the Glory of GOD".  In striving to honor GOD, many times patient fees are not paid or only partially paid.  This results in capitol projects, like what Jullie and I are involved in, not having any money (or very little) to move forward.  Yet, this SMT is working diligently and stepping out in faith each and every day to help patients and trust GOD that money will be available to continue for many of the needed projects here.

8. Kijabe Hospital has become a front-line S***li evangelistic point of light in East Africa. S***li's come here because they hear GOD is in Kijabe. It is amazing how GOD has opened a seemingly impenetrable opportunity to witness to S***li people and is bringing them here! We are continuing to pray that S***lis, as well as many others, continue to hear the gospel and see it in action with the compassion that the staff here at the hospital provide.

9.  Please pray for us since we have made the decision to stay until the summer of 2014.  That should be long enough to get our project finished and also to see Trevor graduate from Rift Valley.  We need prayer as we set out to ask for the funds that we need as well as stamina to stay the course through difficult situations.

There are so many things to praise Him for.  Please keep us in your prayers that we will continue to follow what God has layed out for us.

Thank you so much.
